Advocates on specialty medication access and reimbursement, prior authorization and utilization management reform, distribution and site-of-care policy, accreditation and clinical practice standards, biosimilars adoption, patient support and adherence programs, data sharing and interoperability, and pharmacy scope-of-practice issues.
Primarily funded by membership dues from specialty pharmacies and industry partners (pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers, PBMs, payers), plus conference and sponsorship revenue and fees for educational programs.
Members and partners include specialty pharmacy firms, pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers, pharmacy benefit managers, payer organizations and allied professional groups; prominent members often include large specialty pharmacy divisions of companies such as CVS Health, Optum/UnitedHealth Group, and Walgreens Boots Alliance and allied organizations like the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.
