About the Organization

The National Black Justice Coalition (NBJC) is a U.S.-based civil rights organization focused on the liberation, empowerment, and wellbeing of Black LGBTQ+ people. It advances policy, educates the public, builds leadership, and organizes communities to address intersecting issues of racial justice and LGBTQ equality.

Policy Goals

Promotes LGBTQ civil rights and non-discrimination, racial justice and equity, HIV/AIDS prevention and care, health equity, criminal justice reform, economic opportunity, voting access, and faith-community inclusion for Black LGBTQ people.

Funding

Primarily funded through a mix of foundation grants, individual donations, fundraising events, and philanthropic support; may also receive programmatic grants and sponsorships.

Affiliates

Works in partnership with national and local LGBTQ and civil-rights organizations, Black community groups, faith leaders, and allied advocacy organizations to coordinate policy and public education efforts.
