Formed in 1981, the National Child Abuse Coalition is a non-profit membership coalition that coordinates federal advocacy, education, and policy development to prevent and respond to child abuse and neglect by strengthening families and improving public systems that serve vulnerable children and youth.
Federal child welfare and family-strengthening policies, including advocacy on the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA), Title IV-B and Title IV-E of the Social Security Act, home visiting (MIECHV), upstream prevention programs (child tax credit, paid leave, child care), and reforms to child protection and response systems.
Primarily funded by annual membership dues from member organizations; also supported by grants and philanthropic/project-specific funding.
