The National CASA/GAL Association for Children (formerly National Court Appointed Special Advocate Association) is a nationwide nonprofit membership organization that trains, supports, and sets standards for volunteer court-appointed advocates (CASA and Guardian ad Litem) who represent the best interests of children involved in abuse, neglect, and dependency court proceedings. The association also advocates for policy and practice changes to improve outcomes and permanency for children in the child welfare system.
Child welfare and juvenile dependency court policy, foster care and adoption reform, funding for child protective services and family support, court-appointed advocacy standards and oversight, trauma-informed practices, permanency and kinship care supports, and volunteer recruitment and training initiatives.
A mix of individual donations, foundation and corporate grants, membership and program fees from state and local CASA/GAL programs, and federal/state/local government grants and contracts.
