The National Family Farm Coalition (NFFC) is a Washington, DC-based coalition founded in 1986 during the farm crisis to serve as a national voice for independent family farmers, ranchers, and fishers. Through its member organizations across more than 40 states, NFFC mobilizes grassroots producers to advocate for fair prices, vibrant rural communities, and a food system free from excessive corporate control.
NFFC advocates for federal farm, food, trade, and rural development policies that ensure fair prices and living wages for family farmers and farmworkers, restore competition in agricultural markets, limit corporate consolidation in agriculture, promote food sovereignty, strengthen farmer access to credit and land, support supply management and dairy reform, advance environmental stewardship and agroecology, negotiate fair trade agreements, and protect farmer rights in USDA programs.
Primarily supported by charitable donations and foundation grants, supplemented by contributions from member organizations.
Coalition of approximately 30 grassroots farm, ranch, and fishing organizations nationwide; collaborates with domestic and international food sovereignty and sustainable agriculture networks.
