The National Federation of Families is a national family-run advocacy organization that serves as a voice for families whose loved ones experience mental health and/or substance use disorders. It focuses on family voice, family peer support, and collaboration with policymakers and service systems.
Behavioral health and mental health policy, substance use policy, family support services, youth and family services, school and community-based supports, peer support workforce policy, and systems reform in health and human services.
Primarily membership support, grants, donations, and public and private funding partnerships; it has also received government-funded technical assistance support for some programs.
More than 120 affiliates and partners nationwide; state and local family-run organizations; family peer specialists; and mission-aligned behavioral health advocates.
