About the Organization

The National Foreign Trade Council (NFTC), founded in 1914, is a U.S.-based trade association that represents the interests of U.S. multinational companies on international trade, export finance, and international tax policy. NFTC’s mission is to promote an open, rules-based global economy and to provide advocacy, education, and policy guidance on trade, supply-chain resilience, export controls, sanctions, and related national security and competitiveness issues.

Policy Goals

Advocacy for open, rules-based international trade; export controls and sanctions policy engagement; international and domestic tax policy affecting cross-border business; export finance and trade facilitation; supply-chain resilience and trade security; tariff and trade remedy reform; business input on national security and competitiveness regulations.

Funding

Primarily funded by membership dues and corporate sponsorships from U.S.-based multinational companies, revenue from events and conferences, fees for services and publications, and grant or program support for affiliated educational activities.

Affiliates

NFTC Foundation (the organization’s affiliated 501(c)(3) educational arm), the Tariff Reform Coalition, the Global Innovation Forum, and industry member companies and trade law firms that serve on NFTC committees and board-level coalitions.
