About the Organization

The National Governing Body Council (NGBC) is a coalition of U.S. Olympic and Paralympic sport governing bodies that represents the interests of national governing bodies and works to improve communication and advocacy within the Olympic and Paralympic movement.

Policy Goals

Olympic and Paralympic sports governance, athlete welfare, federal support for amateur sports, oversight of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic system, and policies affecting national governing bodies and elite sport administration.

Funding

Primarily supported by its member national governing bodies and related sports organizations.

Affiliates

U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, Team USA Athletes’ Commission, and member national governing bodies; public leadership has included Pat Kelleher and Li Li Leung.
