About the Organization

The National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) is a national trade association representing the leadership of the apartment and multifamily housing industry. Its mission is to advocate on behalf of rental housing providers and promote policies that support the development, management, and financing of apartment communities across the United States.

Policy Goals

Housing finance reform, tax policy, fair housing regulations, federal housing programs, property management standards, building and safety codes, environmental regulations, rent control policies, and workforce housing initiatives.

Funding

Membership dues from multifamily housing owners, developers, managers, lenders, and other industry stakeholders, as well as conference and event revenue.

Affiliates

National Apartment Association (NAA), NMHC Political Action Committee (NMHC PAC), major real estate investment firms, apartment developers, and multifamily housing finance companies.
