About the Organization

The National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) is an independent, nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the National Park System. NPCA conducts science-based policy advocacy, legal and grassroots campaigns, and public education to preserve park resources, improve visitor experiences, and ensure parks are resilient to threats such as climate change and development.

Policy Goals

Federal public-lands and National Park Service funding and oversight; park infrastructure and maintenance backlog relief; protection of park landscapes, wildlife, and cultural resources; climate resilience and adaptation for parks; opposition to resource extraction and inappropriate development within or adjacent to parks; policies to expand equitable public access and stewardship programs.

Funding

Primarily individual memberships and donations, philanthropic foundation grants, and major gifts; revenue supports advocacy, legal work, science, and public outreach.

Affiliates

Works closely with conservation and public-lands organizations such as the National Park Foundation, Sierra Club, The Wilderness Society, Trust for Public Land, state and local park groups, and former National Park Service officials and conservation leaders.
