The National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) is a U.S. trade association representing companies that install, maintain and rehabilitate underground infrastructure — including water, sewer, storm drainage, gas, electric and telecommunications utilities. NUCA provides industry advocacy, safety and training programs, workforce development resources, standards and business services for member contractors and suppliers.
Typically advocates for increased federal and state infrastructure investment and funding, streamlined permitting and project delivery, excavation and one-call/811 damage prevention and safety regulations, reasonable OSHA and environmental rules for construction, tax and procurement policies favorable to contractors, and workforce development and training incentives.
Primarily funded by member dues and fees, sponsorships and exhibitor revenue from conferences and trade shows, training and certification program fees, and contributions to its affiliated foundation.
State and local NUCA chapters, the NUCA Education and Research Foundation (NUCA Foundation), an affiliated political action committee (NUCA PAC), and industry partners in one-call/811 damage prevention and utility owner groups.
Non-profit trade association (national trade association, operates as a member organization/501(c)(6)).
