The National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) is a U.S. trade association that represents contractors who install, maintain and repair underground utilities and related infrastructure. NUCA’s mission is to advocate for policies that support the utility construction industry, advance safety and best practices, and provide training, education and resources to member firms.
Advocacy for infrastructure investment and federal/state funding, public-works procurement and contracting rules, construction and excavation safety and OSHA/regulatory policy, workforce development and apprenticeship programs, bonding and surety policies, environmental and right-of-way permitting issues, and tax and regulatory policies affecting contractors.
Primary funding from member dues and fees, event and conference revenue, training and certification program fees, sponsorships and industry advertising.
State and local NUCA chapters and councils; an affiliated education and research foundation; partnerships with industry suppliers, equipment manufacturers and related construction trade associations.
