The National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that veterans and active duty service members receive the benefits to which they are entitled due to disabilities incurred or aggravated during military service. NVLSP provides direct legal representation, training, and advocacy to improve the veterans benefits system.
Veterans’ disability compensation and pension benefits, military discharge upgrades, access to health care and earned benefits, and reforms to improve fairness and efficiency within the Department of Veterans Affairs claims and appeals process.
Primarily supported through foundation grants, individual donations, cy pres awards, attorney fee recoveries under federal law, and charitable contributions.
Works closely with veterans service organizations such as the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, as well as pro bono law firms and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
