About the Organization

The Navy League of the United States is a nonprofit, civilian advocacy organization founded in 1902 that promotes strong U.S. maritime forces and maritime interests. It supports the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and U.S. Merchant Marine through public education, advocacy, community outreach, support for service members and families, and youth programs such as the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.

Policy Goals

Advocacy for robust naval and maritime capabilities, shipbuilding and industrial base support, sustained defense budgets for the sea services, maritime security and port/infrastructure investment, readiness and personnel policies, and maritime workforce and youth development programs.

Funding

Membership dues, individual donations, grants, event revenue, and corporate sponsorships and donations largely from maritime and defense industry stakeholders.

Affiliates

Local Navy League councils, the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps, maritime industry trade groups and shipbuilding firms, veterans and service organizations, and partnerships with DoD and other maritime stakeholders.
