The North Carolina Association of County Directors of Social Services (NCACDSS) is a non-profit, membership association representing county social services directors across North Carolina. Its stated mission is to inform, educate, and empower members to strengthen local departments of social services, improve program delivery to families and individuals, promote sound social planning, and advise state and federal policymakers on the operational impact of social services policy.
Advocacy on state and local social services policy and administration, including child welfare and protective services, foster care and adoption, Medicaid and public assistance implementation, county DSS funding and budgets, workforce development and training, and intergovernmental coordination between counties and state health and human services agencies.
Primarily funded through member dues and fees (conference and training/practice development revenue), with supplemental funding from grants, sponsorships, and program service income.
