About the Organization

The Northwest Progressive Institute (NPI) is a Washington-state nonprofit public policy and advocacy organization, founded in 2003, that produces research, communications, and grassroots outreach to advance progressive policy reforms at the state and local level across the Pacific Northwest.

Policy Goals

Advocates for state and local progressive policies including campaign finance and election reform, government transparency and accountability, healthcare access, environmental protection and climate action, workers' and labor rights, education funding, civil liberties, LGBTQ and immigrant rights, and technology and broadband access.

Funding

Primarily supported by individual donations and small-donor contributions, supplemented by membership support and occasional foundation grants.

Affiliates

Andrew Villeneuve (founder and executive director); collaborates with state and local progressive organizations, labor unions, and grassroots advocacy groups in Washington and the broader Pacific Northwest.
