About the Organization

The National Rifle Association – Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) is the lobbying and political advocacy arm of the National Rifle Association of America. Established in 1975, it is responsible for advancing the NRA’s legislative agenda at the federal, state, and local levels, primarily focused on protecting and expanding Second Amendment rights and promoting firearm-related policies.

Policy Goals

NRA-ILA primarily pursues legislation related to gun rights, including opposing firearm restrictions, supporting concealed carry and constitutional carry laws, promoting firearms industry protections, advancing self-defense laws such as stand-your-ground statutes, and opposing bans on specific types of firearms or ammunition.
