About the Organization

The Office of the Attorney General of New Jersey is the state’s chief legal and law‑enforcement office, responsible for representing New Jersey in civil and criminal litigation, enforcing state laws, protecting consumers and civil rights, coordinating statewide law enforcement and public‑safety policy, and providing legal advice and oversight to state agencies and prosecutors.
