The Office of the New York Attorney General is the chief legal and law enforcement office for the State of New York. It represents the public interest by enforcing laws that protect consumers, tenants, patients, workers, investors, and charitable donors, and by conducting statewide civil and criminal investigations.
Consumer protection, antitrust, civil rights, labor and wage enforcement, environmental protection, public health, investor protection, charitable oversight, Medicaid fraud, and criminal justice matters.
Primarily funded through New York State government appropriations and state resources.
