Description: Oregon Consumer Justice (OCJ) is a statewide nonprofit that organizes, advocates, and supports litigation to advance consumer rights in Oregon, centering community-led strategies to hold bad actors accountable and expand access to justice for people harmed by unfair business practices. Type: Non-profit (statewide consumer protection nonprofit) Policies: Pro-consumer legislation and regulatory reform; enforcement of consumer protection laws; policy and advocacy on auto sales and financing, debt collection and credit reporting, insurance consumer issues, data privacy and transparency; community education and legal support to increase access to remedies. Funding: Primarily funded through cy pres and other residual/unclaimed funds from class action settlement designations; OCJ does not currently accept individual donations. Affiliates: Convenor of the Consumer Alliance of Oregon; affiliated legal arm OCJ Law (Oregon Consumer Justice Law, P.C.); partners include the University of Oregon Consumer Protection Research Grant and community legal and advocacy leaders (founding board members include Judge Henry Kantor, Justin Baxter, and Emily Reiman).
