About the Organization

The Organic Trade Association (OTA) is a membership-based business association that represents organic farmers, processors, distributors, and retailers across North America. Its mission is to promote and protect the growth of organic trade by advocating for strong organic standards, supporting the integrity of the organic seal, and advancing policies that benefit the organic industry.

Policy Goals

Federal and state policies related to organic agriculture standards, certification and labeling regulations, farm bill programs, conservation and climate initiatives, supply chain integrity, international organic trade, pesticide restrictions, and funding for organic research and market development.

Funding

Membership dues from organic businesses and industry stakeholders, as well as conference revenues and program sponsorships.

Affiliates

Organic farmers and food companies, organic certifiers, retailers, and allied organic industry groups; works closely with the USDA National Organic Program and collaborates with other sustainable agriculture organizations.
