About the Organization

Pacific Asian Counseling Services (PACS) is a Los Angeles–based nonprofit whose mission is to \"enrich the lives of children and families through counseling and caring.\" PACS provides culturally and linguistically specific behavioral health and supportive services to Asian and Pacific Islander immigrant and refugee communities across Los Angeles County, including outpatient mental health treatment, case management, school- and community-based services, parenting and youth programs, benefits enrollment, outreach, and language access supports.

Policy Goals

Typically advances policies and funding priorities that expand access to community-based mental health and behavioral health services, increase Medi‑Cal/Medicaid and county contract funding for culturally competent care, strengthen language access and immigrant/refugee support services, support youth and family wellness programs, and promote anti-stigma outreach and workforce development in the AAPI community.

Funding

Primarily funded through government contracts and reimbursements (county and state grants, Medi‑Cal/Medicaid), supplemented by foundation grants, philanthropic donations, service fees, and other earned income.

Affiliates

Partners and collaborators include Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health; regional AAPI community networks and funders such as the Asian Pacific Community Fund; local school districts, health clinics, and other Los Angeles–area AAPI service organizations.
