The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Office of Public Witness is the denomination’s Washington, D.C. public-policy and advocacy office. It represents the General Assembly in federal policy debates, translates the church’s social witness statements into legislative action, and equips Presbyterians to engage lawmakers on justice, peace, and human rights issues.
Advocacy on economic and social justice, poverty alleviation, immigration and refugee protection, racial equity and criminal justice reform, peace and disarmament, human rights and religious freedom, climate and environmental justice, healthcare access, voting rights, and gun violence prevention; U.S. foreign policy informed by human-rights commitments.
Primarily funded through the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and its Presbyterian Mission Agency, supplemented by donations from congregations and individuals and occasional grants.
