PDA Central Florida is the local Central Florida chapter of Progressive Democrats of America (PDA). It is a volunteer-led, grassroots progressive political group that organizes local activists, endorses and campaigns for progressive candidates, and advances PDA’s mission of shifting the Democratic Party and public policy toward progressive priorities at the local, state, and federal levels.
Typically pursues progressive legislative priorities including Medicare for All and expanded healthcare access, economic and racial justice, labor and workers’ rights, strong climate action/Green New Deal-style policies, campaign finance reform and anti-corruption measures, criminal justice reform, civil and voting rights, and an anti-war/peace-oriented foreign policy.
Primarily grassroots small-dollar donations and member dues; local volunteer support; the national PDA organization also raises funds through donations and operates affiliated political committees for campaign spending.
