The Pennsylvania Youth Congress (PYC) is a youth-led, statewide LGBTQ advocacy organization based in Harrisburg that organizes and trains young leaders, coordinates a network of student groups, and advocates for safer schools and inclusive public policy affecting LGBTQ young people across Pennsylvania.
Advocacy for LGBTQ youth rights and safety, anti-bullying and school climate reforms, nondiscrimination and inclusive school policies, protections for transgender and gender-diverse students, youth leadership development and civic engagement, and local and state-level public policy supportive of LGBTQ young people.
Primarily supported by individual donations, foundation grants, small grants and contributions; operates with volunteer leadership and community fundraising.
A coalition of member student organizations and Gay–Straight Alliances (GSAs) across Pennsylvania, allied statewide LGBTQ organizations and youth advocacy groups, and organizers of the annual Pennsylvania Youth Action Conference (YAC).
