The Pet Food Institute is a national trade association representing U.S. manufacturers of dog and cat food and treats. Its mission is to advocate for science-based regulations, promote the safety and quality of pet food products, and support policies that enable the growth and innovation of the pet food industry.
Animal nutrition and pet food safety standards, ingredient regulation, labeling requirements, international trade and export policy, supply chain regulation, sustainability initiatives, and federal and state regulatory compliance affecting pet food manufacturing.
Membership dues and contributions from pet food manufacturers and related industry stakeholders.
Member companies include major pet food manufacturers such as Nestlé Purina PetCare, Mars Petcare, and Hill’s Pet Nutrition, and the organization works with regulatory bodies including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Association of American Feed Control Officials.
