Power to Decide is a U.S.-based nonprofit that works to prevent unintended pregnancy and expand reproductive autonomy by promoting access to contraception, comprehensive sexual health education, and youth-centered public education and outreach; it focuses on evidence-based programs and policy solutions to help people decide if and when to become parents.
Advocates for expanded access to contraception and family planning services, support for Title X and community clinics, comprehensive sex education, Medicaid and insurance coverage for reproductive health, programs to reduce teen and unintended pregnancy, and policies addressing racial and geographic disparities in reproductive health access.
Primarily funded by philanthropic foundations, government grants, program revenue, and individual donations, supplemented by partnerships with public health agencies and other organizations.
Works with reproductive health providers, public-health agencies, national advocacy and research organizations and youth-serving groups (examples include Planned Parenthood and various state health departments and youth advocacy organizations).
