Protect Democracy is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization founded in 2017 that works to prevent authoritarianism and strengthen democratic institutions in the United States. The organization uses litigation, policy advocacy, and public engagement to promote accountability, protect the rule of law, safeguard free and fair elections, and defend constitutional rights.
Election integrity and access, voting rights, government accountability and oversight, separation of powers, anti-corruption measures, protection of civil liberties, and reforms to strengthen democratic institutions and guard against authoritarianism.
Primarily funded through philanthropic foundations and individual donors.
