About the Organization

Quaker Voice on Washington Public Policy is a Washington state Quaker advocacy organization that brings the spiritual values and testimonies of the Religious Society of Friends to bear on state policymaking. It works with legislators and mobilizes Friends and allies to advance policies grounded in dignity, justice, and stewardship of the earth, focusing its advocacy through selected bills, constituency lobbying, and an annual Quaker Lobby Day.

Policy Goals

Criminal justice reform and alternatives to incarceration, economic justice and poverty reduction, environmental stewardship and climate policy, voting and election integrity, health care access, affordable housing and social welfare policies, restorative justice and prison reform

Funding

Primarily individual donations and membership contributions, small grants and fundraising (donations accepted via PayPal and checks); operates as a 501(c)(4) so contributions are not tax-deductible

Affiliates

Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) in Washington state, local Friends meetings, Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL), senior legislative advocate Paul Benz and programmatic partners in state advocacy
