Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment (RISE) is a U.S.-based trade association that represents manufacturers, formulators, distributors and other companies in the specialty pesticide and fertilizer sector. RISE’s stated mission is to promote responsible pesticide and fertilizer use through advocacy, regulatory engagement, education, research, and industry outreach to ensure product availability and to support public health, landscape management and environmental stewardship.
Advocacy for science- and risk-based pesticide regulation and predictable EPA/OFFICE OF PESTICIDE PROGRAMS processes; defending access to specialty pesticide and fertilizer products; state and local regulatory engagement and preemption where relevant; label and product registration issues; public health vector control and vegetation-management policies; promoting industry education, research funding, and policies that support applicators, turf/ornamental, nursery, forestry, aquatics and structural pest management sectors.
Primarily financed by membership dues, sponsorships and contributions from member companies in the specialty pesticide and fertilizer industry (manufacturers, formulators, distributors and allied service providers).
Member companies and industry partners, including leading pesticide and fertilizer firms and distributors (examples cited in RISE materials include Bayer Environmental Science, Corteva Agriscience, BASF, Syngenta, FMC, Nufarm, SiteOne Landscape Supply and Clarke) and allied organizations such as the National Pest Management Association and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America; leadership typically composed of senior executives from member firms.
