Rising Voices is a Michigan-based advocacy organization formed to organize and develop the leadership and political power of Asian American women and young people around progressive values. It engages in community organizing, civic engagement, leadership development, and state-level policy advocacy to amplify AAPI voices in Michigan policymaking.
Voter engagement and civic participation; inclusive K–12 curriculum and ethnic studies (Teach MI History); racial equity and anti-discrimination measures; immigrant and language access services; reproductive rights and access to health care; youth leadership and education policy.
Primarily donor contributions, foundation grants and project funding delivered through fiscal sponsorship and progressive philanthropic partners.
Center for Empowered Politics (project host) and fiscal sponsor relationships with Tides Advocacy, local Michigan AAPI community organizations and statewide progressive coalitions such as Teach MI History partners.
