About the Organization

Save Bren Mar Coalition is a community-based advocacy group in the Bren Mar neighborhood of Fairfax County, Virginia, formed to oppose the proposed Plaza 500 data center and associated electrical substations near residential communities. The coalition organizes residents to advocate for stronger zoning protections, greater setbacks, and public oversight of data center development to protect neighborhood safety, environmental quality, and property values.

Policy Goals

Local land use and zoning policy, data center regulation, utility substation siting requirements, residential setback standards, and environmental and community impact protections in Fairfax County.

Funding

Grassroots donations from local residents, including small-dollar online fundraising efforts.

Affiliates

Led by founder Tyler Ray and works in partnership with local homeowners associations and community groups such as Friends of Holmes Run and the Bren Pointe Homeowners Association.
