Save Lake Superior Association (SLSA) is a grassroots, member-based citizen organization founded in 1969 dedicated to protecting the ecological integrity, water quality, and public access of Lake Superior and its watershed through education, outreach, annual meetings, and advocacy.
Protecting water quality and fisheries, opposing sulfide/mineral mining and hazardous waste near the lake, defending public lands and forest/shoreline protections, preventing invasive species introduction, and promoting pollution prevention and long-term watershed stewardship
Primarily member dues and individual donations supplemented by small fundraising activities and occasional grants
Regional conservation groups such as Save Our Sky Blue Waters and other Lake Superior watershed organizations, and collaborates with statewide and national environmental groups including the Sierra Club
Non-profit, member-based citizen advocacy association (volunteer-run)
