Services, Immigrant Rights and Education Network (SIREN) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Santa Clara County, California that organizes, educates, and provides immigration-related legal services to low-income immigrants and refugees. SIREN’s mission is to empower immigrant communities through community organizing, leadership development, civic engagement, policy advocacy, and direct legal assistance, with offices serving the Bay Area and Central Valley.
SIREN typically pursues policies that expand immigrant rights and integration, including pathways to legalization and citizenship, access to culturally and linguistically competent public services, expansion of affordable immigration legal services and naturalization assistance, protection of due process and civil rights for immigrants, worker protections and anti-discrimination measures, and local civic engagement and voter participation initiatives.
Primarily funded through a mix of foundation grants, philanthropic donations, community fundraising, and public grant support; also receives individual contributions and in-kind support.
Member and partner of regional immigrant-rights collaboratives such as the Silicon Valley Collaborative and the New Americans Campaign; works in coalition with local legal aid providers, community-based immigrant organizations, and immigrant leaders and organizers in the Bay Area and Central Valley.
