Shield of Freedom is an all-volunteer, San Diego–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that raises funds, collects and ships medical supplies, vehicles, communications equipment and other materiel to Ukrainian defenders, first responders and civilians while running public advocacy and awareness events in the U.S. to sustain support for Ukraine.
Advocates for continued U.S. military and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, stronger sanctions and economic pressure on Russia, support for veterans and first responders, and public awareness/constituent outreach to keep Ukraine policy on the U.S. agenda.
Primarily funded by individual and community donations, local fundraising events, in‑kind contributions and occasional gifts of stock or crypto; accepts online donations and payment platforms.
Works with local and Ukraine-focused partners such as Ed’s Friends and House of Ukraine, participates in the Ukrainian Action Summit and local media/events; leadership and spokespeople have included Mira Ruben and Josh Levin.
