The Snoqualmie Indian Tribe is a federally recognized sovereign tribal government from the Puget Sound region of Washington State, historically known as the People of the Moon. The Tribe's mission emphasizes cultural preservation, stewardship of ancestral lands (including Snoqualmie Falls), provision of social services and economic opportunity for tribal members, and community investment through tribal enterprises and programs.
Advocacy for tribal sovereignty and self-determination, land-into-trust and land stewardship, Indian health and social services funding, education and housing for tribal members, economic development and gaming regulation, regional infrastructure and workforce development, cultural preservation and protection of sacred sites, and collaboration with state and local governments on shared priorities.
Primarily funded by revenue from tribal enterprises (notably Snoqualmie Casino and related hospitality operations), supplemented by federal grants and contract funding, state and private grants, and program service revenues.
