About the Organization

The Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) is the national trade association representing companies in the U.S. solar and storage industry. SEIA’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of solar energy through public policy advocacy, industry research and data, stakeholder engagement, and market development to support a competitive, decarbonized electricity system.

Policy Goals

Advocates for federal and state policies that expand solar deployment and manufacturing, including tax incentives and finance mechanisms (e.g., investment tax credits), favorable net metering and interconnection rules, streamlined permitting and siting, grid modernization and storage integration, renewable procurement standards, trade and tariff policy affecting solar supply chains, and workforce and manufacturing incentives.

Funding

Primarily funded by membership dues and corporate sponsorships from solar manufacturers, developers, installers, and service providers, supplemented by revenue from conferences, events, research products, and sponsorships.

Affiliates

A broad membership of solar value-chain companies and industry partners; examples of prominent members and partners have included major installers and manufacturers such as First Solar, Sunrun, Tesla (SolarCity), Enphase, and Sunnova, as well as state solar trade organizations and clean-energy coalitions.
