South Asian Network (SAN) is a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered in Artesia, California that provides culturally and linguistically specific services and advocacy for South Asian immigrants and families in Southern California. SAN’s work focuses on supporting survivors of gender-based violence, expanding access to health care and public benefits, providing citizenship and civic-engagement services, and addressing hate incidents and civil-rights needs.
Advocacy and programs related to domestic and sexual violence prevention and survivor services, immigrant access to public benefits and healthcare (Medi-Cal/Covered California enrollment), naturalization and civic-engagement assistance, hate-crime prevention and civil-rights protections, and community mental-health access and multilingual service provision.
Mix of government grants and contracts, foundation and philanthropic grants, service contracts, and individual and community donations.
Works in partnership with local county health and social-service agencies, regional referral networks such as 211LA, national victim-service resource organizations, and community-based South Asian and immigrant service providers.
