Students Demand Action (Florida) is the Florida chapter of Students Demand Action, a youth-led grassroots network within Everytown for Gun Safety that organizes high school and college students to reduce gun violence through state-level advocacy, voter engagement, public education, and community outreach.
Typically pursues gun-violence-prevention policies such as universal background checks, maintaining or raising minimum firearm purchase ages, red flag/extreme-risk laws, safe-storage requirements, opposing permitless carry and proposals to arm teachers, and mobilizing student voter turnout for pro-safety candidates.
Funded primarily through Everytown for Gun Safety’s nonprofit resources and philanthropic donations, supplemented by grassroots volunteer activity and small individual contributions.
Everytown for Gun Safety; Moms Demand Action (sister grassroots network); campus and community student groups and national gun-violence-prevention advocates and student survivors from the Parkland movement.
