Sunrise Movement Orlando is the local, youth-led chapter of the Sunrise Movement that organizes in the Orlando/Central Florida area to mobilize young people for climate action, advance a just transition to renewable energy, and push for climate justice through protests, community outreach, advocacy, and electoral engagement.
Advocates for ambitious climate and energy policies including the Green New Deal and rapid decarbonization, clean energy and green jobs, environmental and climate justice for frontline communities, opposition to new fossil fuel infrastructure, and increased youth civic participation and voter engagement on climate issues.
Primarily grassroots-funded through small individual donations, local fundraising activities, volunteer labor and in-kind support, with organizational support and occasional grants or shared resources from the national Sunrise Movement and allied progressive funders.
