Description: Survivors Know is a survivor‑led, membership-based nonprofit that organizes survivors and frontline workers to end power‑based violence by centering survivor leadership, providing healing‑justice programming, mutual aid, solidarity circles, and workplace organizing to advance systemic change and alternatives to punitive systems. Type: Non-profit organization (membership-based, survivor-led) Policies: Advocates for survivor-centered workplace safety and anti-harassment reforms, corporate accountability, non‑carceral and transformative-justice approaches to addressing gender‑based violence, worker organizing and labor protections, access to community-based healing and mutual aid. Funding: Primarily individual donations, philanthropic grants and major gifts, program fees and fundraising, with some corporate sponsorships or partnerships for specific initiatives. Affiliates: Co-founders and staff leaders Jo Chernow and Akane Kumagai, Sara Ogawa Heidbreder (Director of Healing Justice), Midwest Anti‑Violence Solidarity Circles (MAVSC) and local survivor and workplace justice networks in the Chicago area.
