About the Organization

Take On Wall Street is a national nonprofit coalition of more than 50 community organizations, labor unions, consumer advocates, and faith-based groups working to build a financial system that serves working families rather than large Wall Street banks. Launched in 2016 and hosted by Americans for Financial Reform, the coalition trains activists, advances policy reforms, and promotes political accountability to curb corporate and financial sector power.

Policy Goals

Financial regulation and Wall Street accountability; corporate governance reform including worker representation on boards; support for a financial transaction tax; strengthening the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau; tax reform to address inequality; pension protection; limits on private equity practices; racial and gender economic justice initiatives; and reducing corporate influence in politics.

Funding

Supported through its host organization Americans for Financial Reform and member organizations, including labor unions and progressive nonprofit groups, with funding from foundation grants and allied advocacy organizations.
