TeamChild is a nonprofit civil legal aid organization based in Washington State that provides free legal representation and advocacy for youth involved in the juvenile justice, child welfare, and other public systems. Its mission is to help young people secure access to education, housing, healthcare, and other essential services in order to promote stability and prevent deeper system involvement.
Juvenile justice reform, youth civil legal aid, education access, child welfare policy, housing stability for youth, and policies that reduce youth incarceration and promote equitable access to public services.
Primarily funded through government grants and contracts, private foundation grants, and individual donations.
Works in collaboration with Washington State Office of Public Defense, local public defender agencies, youth advocacy coalitions, and child welfare and juvenile justice reform organizations.
