About the Organization

TerraPower is a private U.S.-based nuclear innovation company founded in 2006 that develops advanced reactor technologies and associated systems (including the Natrium design) to deliver low-carbon electricity, industrial heat, and medical radioisotopes.

Policy Goals

Advocates for federal and state support for advanced nuclear R&D and demonstration programs, streamlined licensing and permitting for advanced reactors, development of HALEU fuel supply chains, public–private partnerships, clean energy and industrial decarbonization incentives, and workforce development for nuclear construction and operations.

Funding

Primarily financed by private investors and strategic partners (notably Bill Gates and Breakthrough Energy investors) and supplemented by U.S. Department of Energy grants and cooperative agreements and commercial utility partnerships and contracts.
