About the Organization

The Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC) is a Virginia-based conservation organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the lands and waters of the Virginia Piedmont. Founded in 1972, PEC works to promote land conservation, sustainable agriculture, clean water, climate action, and smart growth planning to preserve the region’s rural character and natural resources.

Policy Goals

Land conservation, farmland preservation, environmental protection, clean water policy, climate change mitigation, renewable energy siting, smart growth and land use planning, and sustainable transportation initiatives.

Funding
