The Source LGBT+ Center is a community-based nonprofit in Visalia, California (founded in 2016) that provides an affirming drop-in center, youth leadership programs, trans-led support, HIV/STI testing and prevention services, case management, education and community events to serve LGBTQ+ people across California's Central Valley.
Focuses on policies that expand LGBTQ+ health access and HIV prevention (PrEP/PEP), protect transgender rights and access to care, support youth services and anti-bullying measures, advance anti-discrimination and inclusive public policies, and promote funding for community-based cultural competency and local service delivery.
Primarily supported by a mix of philanthropic and corporate grants, government public-health grants and contracts, and individual donations and fundraising.
Co-founders/executive leaders Brian Poth and Nick Vargas; partnerships with Tulare County public health and local service providers, California Department of Public Health grant programs, Health Net, Youth Services of Tulare County and regional community organizations.
