The Western Environmental Law Center is a public interest environmental law organization that works to protect and restore the American West’s lands, air, water, wildlife, and communities through legal advocacy. The organization partners with local communities and conservation groups to advance environmental protections using litigation, policy advocacy, and administrative action.
Environmental protection, public lands conservation, wildlife and endangered species protection, climate change mitigation, clean air and water regulations, and enforcement of federal environmental laws such as the Endangered Species Act and National Environmental Policy Act.
Primarily funded through charitable donations, foundation grants, and contributions from individual supporters.
Works closely with regional and national conservation organizations, community groups, and environmental advocacy coalitions across the western United States.
