The Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP) is a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit coalition that works to conserve and restore fish and wildlife habitat, protect public lands and access for hunters and anglers, and secure federal funding and policy solutions that sustain recreational hunting, fishing, and the outdoor economy. TRCP unites sportsmen and women, conservation groups and outdoor businesses to advance policy, outreach, and on-the-ground projects rooted in Theodore Roosevelt’s conservation legacy.
Advocacy for federal conservation funding and appropriations; protection of public lands and sportsmen's access; habitat restoration and fisheries management; wildlife and migration corridor safeguards; policies to support the outdoor recreation economy; guidance on energy and infrastructure development to avoid or mitigate impacts on fish and wildlife; sportsmen-led climate and natural resource policy solutions.
Primarily funded by individual donations and grassroots memberships, grants from foundations, corporate sponsorships and partnerships with outdoor-industry companies, and project-specific grants and donations.
Works in coalition with national and state conservation and sporting organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, Trout Unlimited, the National Wildlife Federation, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, the American Sportfishing Association and Backcountry Hunters & Anglers; senior leadership (e.g., CEO Joel Pedersen) and an active network of state and local partners support its work.
