Trans Maryland is a multi-racial, multi-gender, trans-led community power-building organization serving transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people across Maryland. The group provides name- and gender-marker change assistance, peer support groups, community research and training, and state-level advocacy to expand access to gender-affirming care and legal recognition.
Access to gender-affirming healthcare and Medicaid coverage, removal of barriers to name and gender-marker changes, nondiscrimination in health insurance and medical settings, legal and administrative ID reforms, supports for trans youth and community safety initiatives
Primarily funded through individual donations, grassroots fundraising and crowdfunding, grants and foundation support, fee-for-service events, and occasional fiscal sponsorships or partnerships
Planned Parenthood of Maryland, Baltimore Transgender Alliance, CLEAR Baltimore, FreeState Justice, Trans Rights Advocacy Coalition (TRAC), Montgomery County and local LGBTQ advisory boards; Lee Blinder (founder/executive director) as a visible leader
