The Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico is a statewide nonprofit that provides direct services, peer support, education and advocacy for transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming New Mexicans. Its programs include a drop-in center with basic-needs supports, peer-led support groups, legal help for name and gender-marker changes, a provider directory, HIV testing and harm-reduction services, trainings for institutions, and case navigation and housing assistance.
Advocacy for transgender civil rights and non-discrimination, access to gender-affirming healthcare and legal identity documents, public-health and harm-reduction measures, funding for direct social services and housing supports for trans people, inclusive school and workplace policies, and training/technical assistance for public agencies and institutions.
Combination of individual donations, foundation and philanthropic grants, program service fees (training/contracts), and community fundraising.
Works with local and state partners such as Santa Fe Community Foundation, New Mexico LGBTQ Roundtable, Casa Lola transitional housing, Albuquerque Public Schools and other institutional training clients; organizational leadership includes Executive Director Adrien Lawyer.
